Partisan

“David” I sobbed

looking at my husband

only a foot apart

we struggled for movement

bound by rope

I closed my eyes

stretched my neck toward him

Just a last kiss…

I shut out the horror,

felt a piece of flesh

fall upon my cheek

I refused to open my eyes

darkness

was all there was

and a stream of urine

ran down my leg
